Meet the instructor

Cathy Bowman

Cathy Bowman is an award-winning cartoonist and writer who draws for print and online publications. For several years she was a reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle; she now writes about the arts for the San Francisco Examiner.
Cathy is an experienced teacher, artist and journalist who enjoys helping children tell their stories in words and pictures. She has conducted workshops for the Charles Schulz Museum, the Girl Scouts, the San Anselmo Recreation Department and others. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and the author and illustrator of the mini-comic, “The Old Cat and the Sea.”Cathy holds a B.A. in Political Science from U.C. Santa Barbara. A lifelong traveler, she was a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa.
